How to Create a Unique Style for Your Social Media Feed
A strong and clear style makes people stop scrolling. It helps buyers and sellers recognise your work at a glance. It also saves you time because you have a simple system to follow. This guide shows you how to build a unique look and feel for your feed that suits real estate in your area. Everything here is simple and practical. You can set it up once and use it every day.
Why a unique style matters
You look consistent which builds trust
Your posts become easy to recognise in a busy feed
Sellers feel confident that you will present homes with care
Buyers can spot your new listings and updates faster
You spend less time deciding what to post and more time speaking with clients
Start with your brand anchor
Before colours and fonts, decide who you are online. Use short words. Keep it honest and clear.
Pick three brand words. For example Calm. Helpful. Local. Or Bold. Fast. Expert.
Pick three audience words. For example First home buyers. Downsizers. Investors.
Pick three feelings you want people to have. For example Safe. Excited. Proud.
Write these nine words at the top of your style guide. Every choice you make must match them.
Build a simple mood board
Collect nine images that match your words. Use pictures of homes, streets, coffee spots, beaches, bushland, schools and people in your patch.
Aim for one main vibe. Coastal, leafy, urban, rural, or prestige
Include textures like timber, stone, brick, concrete, or marble
Include light style such as bright sun, soft morning, or warm evening
Include two or three images of people to guide portrait style
Place these nine images in a three by three grid. This is your compass for all style choices.
Choose your colour palette
Use four colours. Keep it simple so every post looks clean.
One main colour for headlines and buttons
One dark neutral for text
One light neutral for backgrounds
One accent colour for highlights and stickers
Test your colours on listing photos from your area. Make sure text is easy to read on both light and dark images. If a colour fights the photo, choose a softer tone.
Select fonts and text styles
Choose two fonts.
A headline font with personality
A body font that is simple and easy to read
Create three text sizes and use them the same way every time.
Headline size for big statements
Subhead size for key points
Body size for captions on graphics
Decide on line spacing and letter spacing once. Use the same spacing in every template.
Create reusable post templates
Templates make your style repeatable. Build five to seven templates that cover your main content types.
New listing card
Just sold card
Market update tile
Testimonial tile
Local spotlight tile
Tip or educational tile
Carousel story tile for step by step posts
Keep margins wide. Keep text short. Use the same logo placement and the same call to action area on every template.
Set your photo and video style
Decide how your visuals should look so every post feels like part of the same brand.
Framing
Wide room shots that show floor flow
Detail shots that show texture such as timber floors or stone benches
Human scale shots like hands opening a gate or feet on a path to add warmth
Lighting
Bright and natural for family homes
Soft and warm for prestige properties
Golden hour for exteriors when possible
Editing
Keep colours true to the eye
Avoid heavy filters
Keep horizons level and lines straight
Video pacing
Short clips of two to three seconds
